Patient privacy
For anyone who messages a clinic or practice that answers its enquiries with enhanzu. Last updated October 17, 2026.
Who is responsible
The clinic you messaged, named in the first message of the chat. It decides what your data is used for. enhanzu is its enquiry-handling provider and only processes your data on the clinic's behalf and under its instructions.
What data
Your name, phone number, email if you give it, what you write in the conversation and your appointment details.
What for
To answer your enquiry, help you book, remind you of your appointment and, if you asked and did not book, write to you up to twice in the following 24 hours. Nothing else: it is not used for advertising, sold, shared or used to train artificial intelligence systems.
Who answers
The first messages are answered by an automated assistant. When you are ready to book, or ask something a person should answer, the conversation goes to the clinic's staff.
Health data
The assistant does not give diagnoses, medical advice or opinions on symptoms. Please do not write medical information in the chat that is not needed to book. If you tell us something about your health, it is used only to direct your appointment and is seen by the clinic's staff.
Who else processes it
To run the service we use providers that only process data on our instructions, with servers outside Costa Rica: Meta (WhatsApp), 360dialog (a WhatsApp provider authorised by Meta, Germany), Railway (hosting and database), Anthropic (processing message text), Google (email and calendar) and Cloudflare (this site). Details are in the enhanzu privacy policy.
How long
As long as needed for your care and as required by law. When the clinic stops using enhanzu, your conversations are handed to the clinic and deleted from our systems within thirty days.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction or deletion of your data, and withdraw your consent, by asking the clinic or by writing to contacto@enhanzu.com from the number or email you used. We reply within thirty days. If you write BAJA in the conversation, we will not write to you again. In Costa Rica you can also go to the Agencia de Protección de Datos de los Habitantes (PRODHAB) under Law 8968.
